Next week I will be teaching the 'Illuminated Caddis' to a class at my local Guild branch. The fly is my own design, but with components taken from the Lifeboat Caddis, the standard Deer Hair Caddis, a flash underwing I learned from a fellow tyer at BFFI and a reversed main wing. Well placed casts are always taken instantly and this has been my most successful River Trout Dry Fly for the last 2 years running, with good catches on the Test, the Dove, and the Dun. The fly is also excellent as the top fly in a 'Klink and Dink' setup.
